Recommendations For Alaska Hunting
The following is a list of recommendations only. Temperatures during the fall in Alaska can range from 15 to 75 degrees and from sun to wind, rain, sleet, and snow. I'm sure you've heard it said elsewhere but nowhere does it hold as true as in Alaska, if you don't like the weather, wait 5 minutes and it will change. Please be prepared for all possible conditions.

- 2 Pairs Of Gloves
- 4 - 8 Pair Of Warm Socks
- Thermal Underwear (Synthetic or Smart Wool NO COTTON)
- Heavy Parka & Pants (Gortex or similar)
- Warm Hat
- Waterproof Hiking Boots
- Light Camp Shoes
- Synthetic Fill Sleeping Bag (Good To -10F, absolutely no down)
- Hip Boots Suggested
- Quality Rain Coat & Pants
- Personal Toiletries
- Sunscreen & Chap-stick
- 2 Boxes Of Ammo
- Camera & Film
Day Pack
- Water Bottles
- 1 Box of Ammo
- Binoculars
- Insect Repellent

Warm clothing should be wool, polypropylene, hollofil, thinsulate, or clothing with similar features. Cotton should be avoided. Absolutely no down clothing or down sleeping bags! All Gortex gear should be clean & seams treated with Scotchguard or a similar product. Be certain you and your gear are in good condition.
To insure aircraft passenger safety, Alaska hunters are restricted to 50 pounds of gear in a soft type duffel bag (waterproof recommended) plus guns and ammo. This is NOT a recommendation and any additional gear will be left in Dillingham.
